 The Central Alabama Handbell Festival is held every year around the end of February/early March. Our goal is to provide an educational event in a multi-choir environment. We bring in nationally known clinicians to lead our events.

The 2018 Festival will be Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Jason Krug will be the clinician.

Member choirs of the Guild are eligible to participate. If you are not currently a member of Handbell Musicians of America, then consider obtaining guild membership through the National Organization Office.

 

Directors should purchase music and rehearse sufficiently to ensure that your choir knows the music prior to the festival. Well rehearsed music allows us to fully utilize the musicianship skills of the clinician.

We hold our festivals at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Bessemer, AL. Go to the DIRECTIONS page for a map showing the address of the church. Lunch on Saturday will be on your own. There are a number of fast food restaurants in the immediate area of the church or you may bring a lunch.

Each choir is asked to help with refreshments by bringing 2 3-liter drinks, 3 dozen cookies OR something salty, and a fruit OR veggie tray OR a breakfast snack for Saturday morning.

Remember to bring your own music, stands, pads, covers, mallets, gloves, chimes, and Bells!

As in the past, there will be a free concert at 3:00 on Saturday that will be open to the public.
